Active title

Biochar Active is a premium horticultural grade product formulated to improve soil, potting mixes and seed raising mixes.

Unlike a bag of charcoal of unknown origin, Biochar Active is manufactured in audited, quality controlled facilities. It is then charged with organic nutrients, moisture balanced and finally inoculated with a blend of microbes selected to benefit the widest possible range of plant species. These features serve to increase the nutrient holding capacity and nutrient use efficiency of the soil.
Biochar Active enhances soil structure by reducing bulk density and increasing porosity, drainage and water holding capacity. The increased water holding capacity provided boosts drought tolerance, which is especially useful for potted plants. Click here to buy.

Naked title

This product is formulated from locally sourced volcanic basalt rock dust blended with a tested amount of screened naked biochar.

Biochar Volcanic is used for seed raising, and differs from others:
  • It is sterile, which essentially eliminates risk of disease to seedlings
  • It is composed entirely of components derived from sustainable and organic sources
  • Contains no coir or sphagnum moss
  • Its volcanic rock dust component serves to control drainage, aeration and contributions of slow release natural minerals and trace elements required for raising seedlings
  • Its biochar component holds abundant slow release moisture & acts as a highly suitable host to any beneficial organisms which you may choose to add via teas and innoculants
Biochar Volcanic is used directly in seed raising pots and trays. The water retention quality provided by the biochar requires the seedlings to be watered less frequently and stimulates a strong healthy root growth. Coming soon - preorder here.
